Table of Contents
1. What is UPSSSC OTR?
OTR stands for One Time Registration. It is a single digital profile created on the UPSSSC portal that saves your personal and educational details just once. Once created, every future UPSSSC application form is pre-populated with your saved data, making the process much faster and reducing data-entry errors.
Importantly, OTR itself is not an application for UP PET or any other recruitment. It only generates a permanent OTR number that you then use whenever you apply for a specific vacancy.
2. Why OTR is Required
- No need to repeatedly enter the same information for every recruitment.
- A faster application process for UP PET and future vacancies.
- Reduced chances of data-entry errors across applications.
- A single unified profile for all future UPSSSC recruitments.
Important: Some profile information may not be editable after final submission, so review every detail carefully before you lock and submit your OTR.

- ☐ Mobile number ready
- ☐ Email ID ready
- ☐ Identity document
- ☐ Passport photo
- ☐ Signature
- ☐ High School details
- ☐ Stable internet connection
6. Step-by-Step Registration
This is the core of the process. Follow each step in order:
Step 1: Open the Portal
Open the official UPSSSC OTR portal and click New Registration.
Tip: Bookmark the official portal to avoid fake or mirror websites.
Step 2: Verify Mobile & Email
Verify your mobile number and email address using the OTP sent to each.
Common mistake: Entering a mobile number or email you no longer have access to, since you will need these for recovery later.
Step 3: Create Login Credentials
Create your login credentials (if prompted) and proceed to the profile form.
Step 4: Fill Personal Details
Enter your Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Category and Domicile.
Tip: Match every detail exactly as printed on your High School certificate.
Step 5: Fill Educational Qualifications
Enter your High School Board, Roll Number, Passing Year and Marks/Percentage.
Step 6: Enter Address Details
Fill your permanent and correspondence address details carefully.
Step 7: Upload Photo & Signature
Upload your passport photograph and signature. Match the exact file size and dimension specifications shown on the official portal.
Step 8: Preview the Application
Preview and review every field carefully. Remember that incorrect details may not be editable later.
Step 9: Submit the Registration
Complete the captcha verification and click Submit.
Step 10: Download Confirmation
Download the confirmation page and save your OTR Number and the PDF. You will use this OTR number in every future recruitment form, including UP PET.
7. Photo Guidelines
Upload a recent, clear, high-contrast passport-style colour photograph with a plain background and your full face visible. Match the exact size and dimensions specified on the official portal, as these values may change with official updates. If your image is too large, resize and compress it before uploading using our Photo Resizer tool.
8. Signature Guidelines
Sign on plain white paper with black or blue ink, scan it clearly, and upload it in the accepted format and size. A rejected signature is one of the most common upload errors, so make sure it is neither too small nor too large and matches the official specification.
9. Common Errors & Solutions
| Error | Solution |
|---|---|
| OTP not received | Wait, retry the resend option, and verify your network signal. |
| Invalid photograph | Resize the image to the official specifications and re-upload. |
| Signature rejected | Upload the correct format and size as specified. |
| Email already registered | Recover your existing account instead of creating a new one. |
| Mobile already used | Use the account recovery option. |
| Server busy | Try again during non-peak hours. |

Q: Is UPSSSC OTR free?
Yes, creating the UPSSSC OTR profile is free of cost. Separate recruitment applications such as UP PET may still carry their own application fees.

Wait a few minutes, check your network signal, and use the resend option. Ensure the mobile number and email are active and correctly entered before retrying.
