RRB Technician 2026 Selection Process

The RRB Technician selection process is streamlined into three stages, without any interview or Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) unlike the ALP recruitment:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Single-stage online objective test of 100 MCQs (90 minutes). Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks for their category to proceed.
  2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates are called to present original educational certificates, caste/category certificates, age proof, and other required documents at their allotted RRB zone.
  3. Medical Examination: Candidates must pass the railway medical fitness standards. For Technician posts, visual standards and physical fitness are assessed as per railway medical manual.

Final Merit: The final selection list is prepared purely based on the normalized CBT scores. Category-wise and zone-wise cutoffs determine the final empanelment. In case of a tie, older candidates are given preference, followed by alphabetical order of names.
